I'm Only Taking Written Complaints!

Okay. There is the cute pics of my kids at the Florida beach.
Now... here is the totally unrelated post!

So, my kids are driving me crazy with the constant tattling. He punched me. He flicked me. He took my stuff. He's using my... Usually, I calmly tell the boys that I am not their referee and, "So, what are you going to do about that?"

Well, yesterday a friend was telling me that she found a letter that one of her daughters had written. The daughter was about 8 or 9 and the whole letter consisted of infractions her sister had committed. She took my doll. She broke my crayons. She pinched me.

Well the story of the letter has inspired me. This morning I told the boys that when they wish to let me know that a brother has done something wrong they must write it down. (I'm only taking written complaints!) This way the boys will have to decide if the tattle is worth the "trouble" of writing it down. (I did tell them that a somewhat labeled picture would suffice.)

S's response: "I'll get my markers!"

LOL.....hey and the cute picture is to remind yourself even when they are sooooo naughty they are still adorable...LOL. As for the list, my mom used to make my twin and I write down on a piece of paper what we liked and loved about the other one when we were fighting. My list started off with things like:
1. I like her dress (she was wearing my dress).
2. I like her hair (uh....we are identical twins)
LOL and the list went on until my mom said No you have to say something about who she is to you etc.....LOL

I love it!!! My ds will never do this b/c he doesn't like to write, but my dd will probably have an entire book soon!!! I think sibling rivalry is at a height right now...the heat of summer is setting in and maybe they're ready for school and just don't know it yet:-)
